SYNOPSIS

Oscar and Ruth: life partners with strong emotional ties who organise some sort of psychodrama to achieve the same state of psychological relations, and to carry out “full retrospection”, i.e. their shared life. They engage in an effective game, which is perhaps only supposed to be a play to kill the monotony, and maybe to cleanse their feelings and reveal their true nature to present them in the light of ultimate truth.

The appealing theatrical power of this conventional fair, i.e. play’s circus, is manifested by the constant intertwining of its tragedy and comedy. The elements of farce, parody, pastiche, and melodrama constitute an intriguing challenge for both actors.

The play is organised in co-operation with Off Theatre.

Première: 22 September 2011, the Old Powder Magazine.

REVIEWS
  • Only those two actors, a small, enclosed stage design, budget scenography, emotional turmoil, and humour which displays from time to time a petrifying wave of a true, human tragedy. Even though the play lasts about an hour and a half, you cannot simply remain indifferent to it.     (Życie, 5.11.2001)
