The play is in the form of interviews with widows in Vrindavan that came into being as part of workshops conducted by the creators of the performance in India, in ”Maitri” Ashrama. The creators would like to show the individual stories of widows, their daily life, love, death, God – their salvation. They want women to speak for themselves and to use the voice people don’t want to hear.
Vrindavan is a place of cult in India due to the fact that Lord Krishna spent his childhood days there. The city is also referred to as the ”City of Widows” due to the large number of women from all cross the country that move into the town after losing their husbands and do not have the means to live. They are being attended by a government organization called ”Maitri”, the project’s partner.
NO Fear is a second edition of the triptych Outcast Women. The first part, titled No One Would Be etter Me. Concert tells the story of Women who served their punishment in a prison. In the third part (the last one), Łukasz Chotkowski, Magda Hueckel, and Tomasz Śliwiński will give the floor to Women who were raped during the recent wars in Africa.
Before each play, you can buy pictures pained by the Vrindavan widows. The proceeds from sale will be used to provide food to women and improve their living conditions.
