SYNOPSIS

Can you become paralysed by excessive memory? Can you become addicted to memory? Do you actually need memory about historic events? Has the interest in history become in this day and age a simple excuse for social accountability? The Memory Festival ponders on whether unceasing references to the past divert our attention from the essential need to react to the problems of modern times and to build our future. We will examine what Extermination and World War II mean to younger generations and what they remember about these distinct events.
