SYNOPSIS

Not so long ago, in a galaxy not so far away, right next to… On the planet of markets, chapels, subway, stadium, theatre…

A time of changes. A time of chaos. A time of bold visions, lined with helpless questions. The revitalization is in progress, the façades of tenement houses are refreshed, and Mr. Smith is moving away.

Before the Praga district can reach the future, before the Great Reanimation/Reactivation/Revision/Alteration occurs – there is still time to ask about the costs incurred in the name of ”better tomorrow”. The present is uncertain. The past is falsified. The future is the source of fear, anything can happen. And today, as one of Praga’s stall keeper used to say: ”Praga is one big science fiction”.

What is the purpose of this theatre in a place like Praga and who is it for? Full of doubts, in search of an answer what to do (and if it's possible), the artists of the Powszechny Theatre in the Praga district ponder on the fate of their district, possible revitalization scenarios, and their own contribution to the ongoing gentrification.

The performance focuses on conversations with locals and the actors of the Powszechny Theatre, with science-fiction elements and some wishful thinking.

Right. It’s better to build a Museum-Crematorium and Theatre-Aquarium. And let the hipsters go around the theatre with flowerpots. Aliens from the left bank are making a landing. They give away brushes to children and anvils to craftsmen. How generous.

A stroboscope effect is used during the performance (a light pulsating with high frequency).

Any persons vulnerable to this type of lightning are requested to remain cautious at all times.

The play was premiered at the Art and Society Festival ”Happy City”.
